I am delighted to offer ‘KG Hypnobirthing’ at our practice. This in depth antenatal training teaches women how their body works during pregnancy and labour, providing useful information, relaxation techniques and breathing exercises. The course is designed to enable you to release any fears and build confidence, enabling you to look forward to your baby’s birth.
As an accredited Fertile Body Method Practitioner (FBM), I specialise in supporting women and their partners through their fertility journey. FBM is a recognised program that uses specific hypnosis and mind/body approaches to address the mental, emotional and physical factors which may be affecting your fertility. Hypnotherapy can allow you to access a relaxed and receptive state that we can use to facilitate inner change, which can impact positively on your physical wellbeing and fertility.
As women we transition through different phases in our lives starting with puberty at adolescence and culminating in the peri- menopause and menopause. For many women these transitions are smooth and pass without much difficulty but for others they may experience uncomfortable symptoms. Menopause can be a particularly challenging phase for some women, with up to 70% complaining of hot flushes, intimate dryness or pain, change in mood and difficulty sleeping. Recent studies suggest that Hypnotherapy can be a supportive tool in managing these symptoms North American Menopause Society).
We all know how important healthy eating is. Good nutrition is a foundation for our health and can have a huge impact on how we feel. We sometimes need a little support though in getting our eating habits back on track. Hypnotherapy can be really useful in helping us to identify any unhelpful issues with our eating, let go of unwanted habits and behaviours and make lasting and positive changes. It has been suggested that up to one in four women will suffer from a degree of pelvic pain during their lives. For some women this may be relatively mild but for others it can extremely painful. Pelvic pain can affect our ability to work, exercise, have sexual intercourse or even to just sit or walk comfortably. It is important to the have the underlying cause of the pelvic pain diagnosed as it may be caused by a wide variety of conditions including musculoskeletal issues, dermatological problems, infections, injury/trauma and autoimmune issues.
Miscarriage is sadly very common, with 1 in 4 pregnancies ending in miscarriage. The loss of a baby can be a distressing, frightening and isolating experience for women and their partners. Pregnancy loss may occur very early into a pregnancy or may happen at a later stage. The emotional impact of this can be profound and women may require support to assist them during this process. Some women may find that techniques such as hypnotherapy and mindfulness can help them cope with the emotional impact of miscarriage or stillbirth. At my practice, I see women who have experienced pregnancy loss at different stages and work with them to provide therapy that is tailored to their specific needs. National organisations such as ‘Tommys’ and ‘Sands’ also provide information and support following pregnancy loss and can put you in touch with local support groups.
